Adjusting Your Trim Removal System

Your pneumatic trim removal system should have some air flow adjustments available. Adjusting the air flow in any pneumatic trim removal system will allow for the best possible efficiency for removing your trim. Many converting applications vary trim width, density, stiffness and types (film, foil, paper, textiles, nonwovens, all of the above?). Machines vary running speeds. Suction, air speed and volume adjustments will assist in optimizing your pneumatic trim removal system to work best with whatever trim you may be handling. There are several ways to adjust pneumatic trim removal systems:

  1. Systems which utilize venturi's will often times include adjustable venturi's for optimizing performance.
  2. Exhaust valves can be installed in certain areas to decrease air flow by exhausting some air to atmosphere.
  3. It may be possible to adjust the speed of the blower or fan with a variable speed control.

When considering pneumatic trim removal equipment, be sure to understand the available adjustments built into to the system or available as options.
