Safety chucks are devices that are utilized in the unwind and rewind zones of converting operations. They cradle the journals of the support mechanism (usually an air shaft) for the unwind and / or rewind roll of material. In all phases of operation, loading, operating and unloading, safety chucks must withstand a high level of wear and tear. Therefore, maintenance of safety chucks should be scheduled regularly.
