Baggy Center Web | |
Paper, film, foil, textile and nonwoven webs may have a baggy center condition. This defect is present in the web itself, caused by the web being longer (in the machine direction), in the center than it is on its edges. Webs with this condition will wrinkle due to the tension differential, cross machine, between the tight edges and baggy center of the web. NOTHING can "fix" a web with this defect; a web with a baggy center will always have a baggy center. However, anti-wrinkle systems can help remove wrinkles before they become creases.
