Quick tip for checking if your rollers are turning properly.

As we have discussed in past articles, it is extremely important to keep rollers in traction with your web. If you are not sure whether certain rollers are turning properly with your web, here's a quick tip that my help you.

Apply "machinists bluing" or other type of dye to the surface of the roller in question. Then run your machine. If you see excessive removal of the bluing, the web is literally rubbing the marking off the surface of the roller, indicating the roller is not turning properly with the web and subsequently the web is not in traction with that roller.
