Venturi Based Waste Removal for Pieces

Properly sized and designed venturi based pneumatic waste removal systems are an excellent option for removing die cut or chopped pieces from a converting operation. Die cut and chopped web pieces can cause a lot of headaches and frankly a large mess if they are not properly handled. One option is to use a venturi based pneumatic waste removal system to pull away the pieces out of the process area and deposit them in a remotely located disposal area.

Since the pieces don't encounter any moving parts through the ventui, overall wear and required maintenance is much less than other types of air moving systems. System noise is extremely low. These systems can be designed to accommodate very long or short conveying lengths. Typically, the venturi itself should be mounted as close as possible to the pickup point with the bulk of the conveying distance being accommodated on the discharge (output) side of the venturi.

If you are considering new ways of handling and conveying die cut or chopped web pieces, you should consider using a venturi based waste removal system for your application. As always, when deciding on a trim removal or in this case, piece removal equipment; samples, samples, samples - make sure to supply any potential vendor of this equipment with sample waste and make sure they test the samples and base any recommendation of a system on the testing of those samples.
